“Right Place Right Time as a title sums up my career to this point. I’ve worked
hard in everything I’ve done, doing what’s felt right, and everything has fit
into place. It’s the sentiment for this album – a body of work of great pop
songs. And I’ve gone in a different place again this time.” Olly Murs
While thinking about a famous person, I immediately thought in the direction of a singer.
But I like various kinds of music and there are several vocalists I admire. After thinking about this for a long time, I've chosen Olly Murs.
I admire Olly Murs because I think he makes great music and because it looks like he has stayed normal, even though he has become famous. He sings a lot of up-tempo songs, which I definitely like, I'm not a person for these slow ballads.
Olly Murs was born in the village of Whitam, as part of a twin. Besides his twinbrother Ben, he has a sister named Faye Murs. At Highschool, Olly was a striker in the school's football team, later on he played semi-professionally for Whitam Town. But not being lucky at all, Olly had to give up his football career because of an injury. Because he couldn't play football anymore, he started to sing and together with his friend John, he began a band, The Small Town Blaggers.
After that adventure Olly signed himself up for various talent shows, X-factor included.
At X-factor he auditioned performing Stevie Wonder's Superstition, he got through and became second in the finals.
In February 2010 Olly signed a record deal between Epic records and Syco Music. After his single 'Please don't let me go', his debut album was released in November 2010, named Olly Murs. This album entered the UK Albums Chart at number two and has gone double-platinum. Olly completed the theatre tour for this album in spring 2011, he also toured as the support act of JLS (Jack the Lad Swing).
Olly's second album 'In case you didn't know' was released in 2011, it was introduced with the single 'Heart skips a beat' and is at almot triple-platinum sales. In this album Olly establish himself as a songwriter, but in his third album 'Right place Right time' he sees himself at the absolute top for crafting songs.
In 2013 Olly made a huge UK arena tour and he toured as special guest together with Robbie Williams on his European Stadium Tour.
Besides his music career Olly has done some modelling work. He has done a campaign for clothing store NewYorker in March 2012 for the spring / summer range and he has modelled for the autumn / winter range of Farrell, Robbie Willams' label.
If I had to describe Olly's appearance, I would say that you recognize him by his hats. Because most of the time Olly wears a hat or a cap. His clothes are casual but well thought about, and with a classic touch. I mean that he is often seen with a classic jacket or suspenders.
Last but not least, underneath you will find a music video of Olly's song 'Busy'. I hope you like it!
